Gloria's Restaurants delicious Latin cuisine

Dallas Observer loves Gloria’s Black Bean Dip

This fall the Best of Dallas 2012 will be released, and to prepare the Dallas Observer is counting down their 100 favorite dishes.

Gloria’s Restaurant is honored to have their black bean dip included in this list. As Mr. Scott Reitz described in his City of Ate food blog, Gloria’s bean dip as an “earthy, smooth puree with chunks of savory black beans.” He is definitely great with words, and he described it so well that we probably don’t need the above picture because everyone can picture it in their mind.

Many Tex-Mex restaurants provide chips and salsa before the meal, and we can’t stop eating them like many other people. We thought we would try to offer our customers something a little different, and we are extremely happy that everyone loves the bean dip so much. Like Scott mentioned, it is hard to back away from the black bean dip and still have room for your entrée. We want to let Scott and all of our other loyal bean dippers know that if you save some of the bean dip, we will be happy to put it in a to go container so that you can enjoy our fabulous entrees.

P.S Scott, we can work something out with you regarding sliding down the fire pole.

What is your strategy for not eating too much bean dip? What are some of your favorite Gloria’s Restaurants dishes?

  1. Lechon Asada!!! OH my how we love that pork!!! It's the best thing on the menu, and we return for it regularly. We used to share it, or alternate who got to order it until we now come in for TWO orders and eat every bite! Please feel free to share the recipe!!! ;-)
